The popular German-language musical, Elisabeth, follows the life of Empress Elisabeth of Austria and the struggles she faced, both external and internal. And one of the driving characters in the musical is the specter of Death who follows her.
Elisabeth originally opened in Vienna in 1992, and since then has been performed in several countries. With this project, I sought to map out some of the prominent actors who have portrayed the character of Death across these different productions.
